Christopher “Chris” Edenfield, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with more than a decade of experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and infectious disease care. He currently practices at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he specializes in infectious disease consulting, complex inpatient management, antimicrobial stewardship, and coordination of care across multidisciplinary teams.
Chris began his career in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery before transitioning into emergency medicine and hospitalist roles across multiple health systems in South Carolina. His broad clinical background includes ICU care, procedural medicine, admissions and discharges, diagnostic interpretation, and management of medically complex patients. This diverse experience gives him a practical, systems-focused approach to patient care and clinical decision-making.
He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia, and holds certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS. Chris is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and remains committed to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
Outside of medicine, Chris is active in his community and enjoys golf, time with his wife and children, and entrepreneurial projects focused on real estate and local engagement in the Lowcountry.
